The Kwara concession where 4 Rivers sits is a massive area and has allowed Kwando Safaris to build a new lodge to the north of the Kwara and Splash Camp areas.
It has opened up a region in Botswana, that due to the distances from these two others, has never really been visited. It is a stunning area of small waterways and large savannah and forests.
These areas are never too big to add another lodge, and by doing so you can get to visited a never before seen area of the Kwara concession, which has one of the best reputations here.
Its a beautiful and serene region, peppered with all the wildlife you would want, and considering its privacy, its at a very good price for Botswana…. well worth putting 4Rivers on your list of lodges to visit.

Wildlife
This area shares a similar region to the northern area of the Moremi Game Reserves as Kwara, and you could argue that the Kwara concession dominates the central to northern area of the Delta. It is the incredible array of wildlife habitat which dictates what can be seen here.
You will definitely find elephants here but perhaps not in the huge numbers you can see in the Chobe or Linyanti areas. The same can be said of buffalo, even though large herds are often seen here. With these beasts come the predators with lion, hyena, leopard being especially prevalent. The Kwara area is also know for good sighting of cheetah and sometimes wild dogs.
Plains game is abundant here, sightings are especially enriched by Red Lechwe in the waterways and also the beautiful sable antelope.
With some of the lagoons in the area being approachable by boat, Splash has been very fortunate over a number of years to witness huge heronries where many birds are happy to nest, this is truly one spectacle not to be missed and a real feature of the Okavango Delta.

Overview
Located in the Okavango Delta, 4 Rivers is the newest camp in the Kwando portfolio and enjoys exclusive use of the north western side of the renowned Kwara Private Concession. In days gone by, explorers whispered of these fabled floodplains, which teem with plains game – and the predators that stalk them.
This is the great unexplored. A wild and isolated wilderness with stunning biodiversity, a confluence of waterways, open plains, forested islands, and Mopane woodlands home to African wild dogs, lions, elephants, leopards, sable antelope and more.
With no other safari camps having access to the area, the camp is located a short 15-minute drive from its own private airstrip. A wide variety of activities, including game drives, night drives, walking and seasonal mokoro trips, are all on offer from a camp that harks back to a traditional old-world safari ethos while remaining exclusive.
4 Rivers is tucked away in ancient woodland and looks across a permanent small lagoon to Maboa Island. Sitting on raised wooden decks, the camp has 9 large meru tents including a family room. All the tents will have indoor and outdoor showers and we welcome children from the age of 6 years old. Private game drive vehicles will also be available. The main communal area will include a bar, dining room, curio shop and a selection of smaller lounge areas that allow you to enjoy the peace of the Delta. The camp will be run completely on solar power with the highest of eco-standards.
Room Description
Much like that of its siblings, Pom Pom and the Dinare camps… 4Rivers retains the look and feel of a traditional bushcamp.
The rooms and large and spacious with a volumes bed which can be split into twins.
Most rooms are very well positioned to look over the seasonal water of the Okavango, with a small deck outside for you to sit on and watch what goes by.
