Chiefs Camp is a 5 star establishment due to a combination of its service levels and game experience.
The accommodations are huge and the whole inference of the lodge is service orientated as well as wildlife orientated. Chiefs Island is one of the most game rich environments in Botswana, but that is exactly why it scores so highly.
More about Abercrombie & Kent styling than a locational experience. Its 5 is due to the incredible area its sits within. We feel the other camps within the same area, Mombo and Little Mombo, pip Chiefs to the post at being the best. The accommodation and dining is fantastic, but its is a little on the expensive side in peak season but offers a very good low price in the green season. Nonetheless, we feel it still deserves its rating.

Wildlife
This compelling destination is celebrated for its wealth of animals and birds and you’re invited to spy elephant, hippo, lion, giraffe, rhino, cheetah, leopard, wildebeest, impala and rare African painted dogs, the most endangered predator in southern Africa – all in one day, and all to yourselves. Guests tell us they feel as though they’re the first to explore this magical terrain, which gives you the rare sense that you’re the only ones there on safari.
