For those of you who want to experience a safari itinerary on foot then Footseteps Across the Delta is on of the best here in Botswana.

Accommodation is in rustic semi-permanent tents right in the tick of the wilderness… this is a very good way to get back on your feet.
The ever present herds of buffalo, elephant, zebra, wildebeest and impala are complimented with fantastic sightings of red lechwe racing through the waterways. Along the permanent waterways of the Delta, one might if are lucky see the very elusive sitatunga antelope and more common reed buck and water buck.
Predator species are high in number, especially with lion and hyena. Leopard sighting are extremely good as are cheetah and wild dog.
Due to the nature of the waterways, flooded plains and dryer areas, birdlife is some of the best available in the country. Birds range from Africa Pygmy-Goose flying low over the waters, Coppery-tailed Coucal, Bateleur Eagles and the rare Wattled Crane and Slaty Egret.

The Footsteps camps is in a remote part of the Okavango Delta and home to two safaris. Firstly ‘Footsteps Across the Delta’ a walking safari and secondly ‘Young Explorers‘, a specialist family safari
Accommodation in the camp is in three spacious Meru-style tents with comfortable twin beds. All tents are furnished with en-suite facilities, hot water filled bucket showers and porcelain flush toilet.
From this wonderful base we are able to offer something very special – the opportunity to explore the wilderness on foot: to get up close and personal with the African bush. It’s not to be missed.

Very simple camp in a tented configuration designed to be semi permanent
The comfortable and private Footsteps camps accommodate guests in three specially designed twin-bedded Meru tents, complete with sewn-in floors.
Each tent has its own bucket shower and bush toilet which is attached to the back of the tent, and there is even a daily laundry service.
The ʻbush kitchenʼ is run by the chef who prepares menus to wet all appetites.
The camp sites in the lush woodland areas of the Okavango Delta… completely unfenced and open to wildlife
