Wet Camp
Safari Lifestyles View
One of the oldest camps in the Okavango Delta, Gunns’ Camp gives you a classic styled bush camp with great views over the Okavango floodplains. This is a wet camp therefore the activities are more relaxed. Enjoy yourself whilst drifting through the floodplains on a mokoro, or take a slightly more strenuous activity and go on a bush walk on Chiefs Island.
As it is a wet area it is not really known for big game, but you never know what you are going to see, certainly you have good chances of seeing herds of beautiful red lechwe running through the water.
The sister camp, Moremi crossing is not too far away and is much newer. Gunns’ is a much smaller and more intimate affair so we would recommend this lodge for its quietness alone with ability to get a real Delta experience.

Wildlife
Gunns Camp being a water based camp offers a wide variety of animal and bird species, our walks on Chief’s Island give you the opportunity to get a better view of not just the big animals but the smaller insects and birds that contribute to the Okavango’s vast ecosystem.
Game which has been spotted on walks has been Lion, Leopard, Wild dog, Elephant, Giraffe, Zebra, Buffalo, Red Lechwe and many more. On the mokoro’s you get to see the water birds like African Jacana’s, African Fish eagles and if you look carefully you will see the Malakite Kingfishers darting between the reeds, there is also a chance that your guide will find the rare Pel’s Fishing owl.

Overview
Overlooking the legendary Chiefs Island and bordering the Moremi Game Reserve, Gunn’s Camp is one of the last few remaining luxury, vintage safari camps. Set under leafy palms and African Ebony to blend naturally with its unique surroundings, Gunn’s Camp achieves a fine balance of comfort without isolating guests from the sights and sounds of the wilderness.

The camp runs off a massive solar-panel, which feeds power to the entire camp. Hot water is supplied through a state-of-the-art solar-heated geyser system, delivering hot water to each room.
The accommodation offered at Gunn’s Camp consists of 6 fully furnished, deluxe Kenya-style meru tents with en-suite bathrooms featuring standalone baths and outside private showers.
