Haina Kalahari Lodge is an excellent stop off for the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. The area is a fenced farm with an array of plains game. It is perfectly possibly to come across predators here; indeed the last time Safari Lifestyles visited we had lions roaring right outside the lodge and even followed lion tracks on quad bikes. However, if there are any predators then these come and go if they manage to get under the fence so they are not permanent on the farm.
The Lodge itself is a really nice bush lodge with pretty good accommodation. The activities range from walks with the local bushmen, game drives within the farm to quad biking around the area (watch out for those lions!) . They will even undertake mobile safaris into the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, but these must overnight as the reserve is really too far for a day trip. These mobiles are at an extra cost.

Wildlife
Highlights would be sightings of the big cats, they are extremely vocal and seen regularly. There are several territorial leopards and cheetahs that also move through the conservancy.
There are the usual antelope species especially herds of Gemsbuck, Blue Wildebeest and Eland. Kudu are also plentiful. Wild Dog and brown hyena do occasionally move through the area as well.
Game drives are lead by an experienced guide. Evening sundowners are served after the game drive with the sun setting over the Kalahari. Game also comes to drink at the waterhole adjacent to the Bar throughout the day. Both migrating and residential species of birds with over 250 species positively identified. , cheetah, leopard and brown hyenas.

The main boma of wood and thatch houses the lounge, dining room and bar area. Mobile overnight and day trip safaris are offered into the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Activities on offer include game drives, quad bike safari and an unforgettable experience with the local Bushmen people.
The setting of Haina Kalahari Lodge is classically African, relaxed and informal. The Main Boma consists of a lounge, dining room and bar area decorated in wood and thatch. A swimming pool, sun deck, well-appointed bar and an expansive boma eating area are among the facilities available to visitors.
All rooms are walkable via bush paths through the Kalahari scrub
The sundeck is a popular spot for social activities and for exchanging accounts of the various sightings of birds and animals seen during the day. The Lodge accommodates up to 20 guests in tented accommodation which are all private with their own decks.

The 6 Luxury tents consist of a bedroom and en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet.
Three of the tents are Superior Luxury tents and have thatch roofs, large decks and full bathrooms. All units are furnished in subtle earth tones and dark woods in a contemporary African theme and reflect the bush area.
There is one family tent that has been built around the trees and it has 1 king-size and 2 3/4 – ideal for families.
