Opened December 2017… Its a lovely camp which steps away from the traditional gumpole and thatch construction and offers you a much more modern affair.
Its the area which hold the highest interest for us at Safari Lifestyles though as we know this area well and very much welcome a new camp here….
The area is not too far away from Chitabe and thats great news as the wildlife can be prolific. For this reason alone we think this camp is going to be a great success.

Wildlife
The Qorokwe Concession traversing area comprises 26 180 hectares (64 692 acres) of scattered acacia woodland, occasional wetland and seasonal floodplains. The concession is situated in the south-eastern part of the Okavango Delta and is separated from the well-known Moremi Game Reserve by the Gomoti Channel.
The Santantadibe River forms part of the western boundary of the concession and is typical habitat of the Okavango Delta, with seasonal palm-dotted islands, wooded islands, tranquil waterways and dry woodland areas. This ensures a year-round, diverse variety of wildlife and birding habitats that make Qorokwe unique.
The variety of habitats in the Qorokwe Concession allows for good concentrations of larger predators – lion, leopard, spotted hyaena, cheetah and wild dog – as well as herbivores such as giraffe, buffalo, lechwe, tsessebe, impala and elephant. The pristine floodplains are home to curious red lechwe and gnarled buffalo bulls, whence the name Qorokwe is derived: “The place where the buffalo broke through the bush into the water.” Aside from the buffalo, elephant are a feature of this classic Okavango Delta setting.
