Sable Alley Camp opened in 2017 and offers perhaps another exciting opportunity to visit this impressive game area.
The camp is positioned overlooking a lovely lagoon often frequented by animals. We think the strength of this camp comes from its relative location to Moremi and the prodigious Khwai area….
Its benefit is that it is in a private concession and away from the public areas and has grown a very good reputation for wildlife sightings.

Wildlife
The magnificent area boasts of unparalleled wilderness with highlights of big herds of buffalo in the dry season and close encounters of unique wildlife species such as aardvark. Large herds of elephants can be viewed at the rivers and waterholes, and thousands of zebra concentrate in the winter before heading south.
Other wildlife seen includes lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, giraffe, eland, sable, hippo, hyena, aardvark and various other nocturnal species. The endless vistas of the Linyanti marsh makes an incredible playing field for the avid bird watcher combined with breath taking views of a scenery carved by defiant forces of nature. Water birds, including pelican, are common.

Overview
Situated on the banks of a peaceful lagoon this tented camp embraces the vision of The Khwai Private Wildlife Reserve, a footprint sensitive and community based joint venture partnership. The Khwai village (and its residents) is administered by this trust.
Sable Alley is a complete rebuild of a favourite old bush camp. Overlooking a lagoon that’s connected to the Khwai and Sable Alley rivers, just a stone’s throw from the world-famous Moremi Game Reserve, this is an enviable location. From the swimming pool, lounge, outdoor seating areas and all the guest’s tents there are uninterrupted views of the resident pod of around 30 hippos and the large herds of plains game, elephant and buffalo coming to drink – an idyllic way to spend an afternoon, especially with a cold gin and tonic in hand. When you are ready to explore further afield, Sable Alley’s expert guides are on hand to interpret the sights, smells, and sounds of the bush.
