Designed to make the most of the reserve’s spectacular views, the lodge’s two camps, of just nine suites each, are complimented by tranquil guest areas.

At Matetsi River Lodge life slows down to the majestic pace of the broad Zambezi River, whose waters run deep alongside two intimate camps, each with just nine river-facing suites and a family suite. Clad in an intricate woven pattern that calls to mind the country’s rich heritage, the cool and spacious suites boast contemporary interiors embellished with natural finishes, and decorated with abstract pieces of art created by a renowned local artist. Set in the deep shade of riverside trees, each camp has a dedicated guest area with sweeping views of the Zambezi.

CRUISING ALONG THE ZAMBEZI RIVER
At Matetsi Private Game Reserve, you will be treated to an utterly exclusive riverboat cruise and canoeing excursion along a private stretch of the mighty Zambezi River. Cruise along the banks of the river, taking in the marvels of this spectacular sanctuary, which is home to the ‘laughing hippos’, ‘singing birds’ and the ‘snapping crocodiles’. Expect magnificent sightings of vast elephant herds coming down to the water to drink and indulge in excellent photographic opportunities.

EXCEPTIONAL GAME DRIVES
Matetsi Private Game Reserve offers the most exclusive game viewing experience in Victoria Falls. Here, surrounded by flourishing wilderness, phenomenal highlights include sightings such as massive herds of elephant and buffalo as well as the rare and majestic sable antelope. The reserve is also home to lion, spotted hyena, African wild dog and leopard. Twice-daily game drives in the privacy of the concession are conducted in an open air safari vehicle in the early morning and late afternoon, accompanied by an armed ranger and tracker.

INTERPRETATIVE BUSH WALKS
An interpretive bush walk, led by a professional ranger, is an absolute must for those looking to get even closer to the incredible wilderness of the reserve. This adventure-filled activity allows guests to learn more about the intricacies of the African bush, with the thrilling opportunity to get up-close-and-personal to its inhabitants, from small to large. A walking safari is truly a feast for the senses!

&BEYOND TOUR OF THE FALLS
During your stay at &Beyond Matetsi Private Game Reserve, you will have the unforgettable opportunity to embark on an interpretive tour of the Victoria Falls. This adventure departs at 13h30 from the lodge. Accompanied by an &Beyond guide, you will be introduced to the wonders of this renowned World Heritage Site, from exploring the beautiful paths around the Victoria Falls Park, and stopping to enjoy numerous photographic opportunities along the way, to visiting the Livingstone statue and learning about how the Falls were created. After your incredible exploration, you will be whisked away for a decadent afternoon of high tea at the renowned Victoria Fall Hotel.

BUNGI JUMPING AT VICTORIA FALLS
Guests can test their courage as they peer over the edge of the Victoria Falls Bridge, with nothing but a secure bungee cord tied around their ankles. As the countdown begins, guests should prepare themselves for an undeniably mind-blowing experience as they leap off the bridge and plummet 111 metres towards the mighty Zambezi River. The bridge is situated between the borders of Zimbabwe and Zambia, with the Victoria Falls as a backdrop.

GORGE SWING
Hold your breath or let it all out as you whoop for joy, this high wire adventure gives a new, fun-filled meaning to the phrase “hanging by a thread”. The giant swing swoops 120m above the waters of the Zambezi. Guests will thrill at the 70m free fall before the swing engages into a 95m long pendulum- type swing. Or take a friend down with you, side by side, hold on tight as you swing together in no-man’s-land Tandem Bridge Swing.

FLIGHT OF ANGELS
Spoil yourself with an unforgettable helicopter flip over the Victoria Falls. The legendary “Flight of Angels” provides spectacular photographic opportunities on a 13 minute or a 25 minute flight that also incorporates a spot of game viewing.

WHITE WATER RAFTING ON THE ZAMBEZI
Take on the mighty Zambezi River with the greatest white water rafting trip on the planet. The rapids on the Zambezi are officially defined as “Grade 5” by the British Canoe Union (Grade 6 being commercially un-run-able)! Hang on for a wild ride as the mighty Zambezi carves its way through one of the great river corridors of the world. This is the domain of the Nyaminyami, the River God of the Tonga people, and is now the highway for exhilarating rafting adventures.

ZIPLINE
The Bridge Slide offers a remarkable opportunity of sheer fun in front of the falls. The slide begins on the Zambian bank of the gorge and ends on the Zimbabwean side of the bridge. As you slide from the gorge towards the bridge, you get an incredible view of the falls and the bridge. The 102 year “Grand ol’ Dame Bridge” is suspended between 2 countries and the only place in the world that you can get to slide in no-man’s land.
