Just upstream from the Victoria Falls, beside the Zambezi, sits two lodges, River Lodge and Island Lodge . River Lodge’s 10 villas stretch out on the banks of a 15 kilometre stretch of waterway, a slice of the Zambezi that is exclusive to Royal Chundu and protected by two sets of rapids. Island Lodge’s four villas lie four kilometres upstream from the main lodge, on the remote Katombora Island.

River Lodge
This luxurious African experience overlooks the unspoiled expanse of the Zambezi River and the Zimbabwean savanna of the Matetsi Private Game Reserve beyond. River Lodge is the main hub at Royal Chundu and the larger of the two lodges. There are 10 magnificent and spacious river-front suites, each of which is thatched and opens on to private decks with uninterrupted river views. Each suite has a double shower and a king-size bed, while the lodge has a beautiful boma for outdoor evening meals and a dining room for intimate indoor occasions.

Island Lodge
Tucked within the privacy and exclusivity of the Katombora Island and protected by the Katombora rapids, this lodge offers guests a tranquil, luxurious and exclusive getaway. Absorb the pulse of the river from private decks and spacious rooms, surrounded by the island’s unique baobabs and two thousand year old Jackalberry trees. There are four magnificent villas at Island Lodge and an intimate boma area for outdoor evening meals, two lounges, a dining room, and an infinity pool. Cobalt blues and natural browns form the colour palette for the lodge and villas.
