Overview
At Waterberry, the comfortable bedrooms are in thatched cottages set around sweeping lawns – some on the riverbank, some overlooking the secluded private dam with its beautiful birdlife.
Every room has its own deck or terrace for sunbathing, birdwatching, private dinners or just relaxing……ideal for recovering from a long flight, or relaxing after the rigours of early morning and late night safari drives.
The lodge has an informal style and the friendly, welcoming staff who do all they can to make your stay a really memorable Zambezi experience.
Waterberry is the perfect place just to rest and watch the view – on the large terrace, the floating sun deck, in the upstairs viewing lounge and bar area or around the large swimming pool.
Waterberry Zambezi Lodge has a range of comfortable accommodation, close enough to Livingstone to enjoy all the activities there, but far enough away to escape the crowds and feel a real sensation of being in the wild.
The double, twin or family bedrooms are open to the high thatch (nice and cooling in the hot sun), with comfortable beds, en suite bathrooms, mosquito nets overhead fans and air conditioning.
Most have private decks overlooking the river or dam (great for sundowners, private dinners, birdwatching or just sitting around with a good book).
Waterberry has seven rooms- including secluded riverside doubles, lakeside rooms with extra beds and two family units with adjoining bedrooms
Included Activities
Included Activities (excluding park or museum fees):
VICTORIA FALLS
A guided tour to the Falls is included as part of your stay although the entry to the Falls themselves is at extra cost ($20 per person at time of writing)
ZAMBEZI RIVER CRUISES
A sunset cruise with sundowners, snacks and a knowledgeable guide will be a highlight of your stay. Our boats are also available for daytime cruises, island picnics and birdwatching or fishing trips, and to take you up river to visit the local village.
FISHING
Depending on how many want to fish, we use either the 10 seater or 4 seater boat. This will go out for a half-day trip with a fishing guide. Fishing is for tiger and bream and varies with the height of the river and the season. Our policy is to catch and release. Fishing tackle is available for use, upon request.
BIRDING
Waterberry’s expert guides – Webbie and Chris – will take you bird watching either on the Zambezi, or through the bush along the riverbank – our variety of birds is excellent. Look out for birds like the African Finfoot to add to your list.
